Hello Nick, the contest does say "original" videos but we are checking with our General Counsel to be certain. Look for a final word on this tomorrow. Thank you for your interest in the contest. Either way, we hope you are planning to submit an entry!

Hello Karina,
The contest is for you to create a 2 minute or less video clip telling us why you "are not buying it." Look at the contest rules tab to review the criteria for your submission and please go to this page to read more about the key messages in the 2012 Surgeon General's report - http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/sgr/2012/index.htm. You can use these key messages to create an idea for your original video. We are in interested in these three topics covered in the Surgeon General's report:
•Cigarette smoking by youth and young adults immediately begins a sequence of health consequences including addiction, reduced lung function, asthma, and heart disease.
•Advertising and promotional activities by tobacco companies have been shown to cause the onset and continuation of smoking among adolescents and young adults.
•Use of tobacco products by youth and young adults shows signs of increasing after years of steady decline.
Let me know if you have any other questions after reviewing the link and the rules.
We look forward to receiving your submission!
Amy

I was wondering if I am understanding the information on adding a submission. Is our actual created video uploaded to utube and the URL link submitted to your submission page.

Hi Dawn,
Thanks for writing. That is correct, upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo and then enter the video url into the submission form under the "Video Url" field.
Best,
Marny
